BIANCA – FROM HELL TO HEAVEN…

Bianca was found in an extremely poor state of health along with 2 other dogs and brought to the pound.

Poor Bianca was so incredibly ill when she arrived it was hard to know how she continued fighting to live. She had very high levels of leishmania and her skin was a red raw bleeding mess and she could barely see out of her eyes as they were full of gunge. Bianca has however embraced her time at the pound and for her it is true paradise. She gets to eat every day, she has shelter, a plastic bed to sleep on and medical attention and is she grateful! Whenever volunteers enter her patio she goes running for a cuddle. She is a good girl and get son well with other dogs although can be a little protective over her food, which is understandable as she was certainly not fed every day prior to coming to the pound. She is an older, loving girl who would love a nice soft bed in her later years.

UPDATE OCTOBER 2019

Since July 2019 Bianca has been in a lovely foster home in Gibraltar with another male dog adopted from the pound. According to her foster dad “after being very timid at first and hiding in the corner she made good progress after 2-3 weeks and was happy to explore the whole house and go up and down stairs. She has made good friends with her new foster brother and likes playing with him. She loves cuddles and actively demands them. She has very soft hair and doesn’t moult too much. She has learnt to sit, Go down, come, stay. She is interested in reward based training. She walks well on the lead which she learnt from scratch. She can be slightly reactive with other dogs when on the lead. She cannot be homed with cats. She is now house trained, used to going for regular walks, she behaves younger than a 10 year old. She is gentle and cuddly and it is a joy to touch her as she is so soft. She would suit a first time dog owner.”
