Spanish Stray Dogs UK
Spanish Stray Dogs UK is a UK registered charity set up in 2012. Our SCIO charity number is SC043486 and we are regulated by the OSCR.
We search for kind, caring, patient forever families in the UK to adopt Spanish Stray dogs that have been rescued from the streets of Spain. Our dogs have mostly known sadness, cruelty and have only known a life of neglect and abuse. If you would like to offer one of our dogs a home please contact us. Since 2012 we have helped over 300 Spanish Stray Dogs find forever homes in the UK.
As well as searching for forever families to adopt our dogs, we also fund-raise for money that can help pay transport costs and cover things like vet bills for our dogs. We also constantly collect donations of flea and tick products, treats, toys, and light weight blankets to send to the dogs in Spain. If you would like a postal address to post your donation to please email us.
We work closely with our sister organisation register charity Spanish Stray Dogs (charity number G93320919) and remain in close contact with the dogs we bring to the UK during every part of their rescue.
Meet the BOARD OF TRUSTEES:
President and Founder: Amee Angelina Townsend
Amee founded Spanish Stray Dogs, our sister organisation, in 2010 whilst she was living in Spain in order to help a stray dog called Ben.
Since 2010 Amee has run Spanish registered charity Spanish Stray Dogs and helped to find homes for hundreds of dogs all over the world, as well as helping to save 40 Laboratory beagles in Barcelona who were due to be euthuanized https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCps1uHVVaA .
During her time in Spain Amee worked as a volunteer for two years at a Spanish council kennel and knows first hand the sadness and cruelty that these dogs endure. Amee lives for helping dogs and has helped to raise many thousands of pounds to improve the living conditions of the dogs that remain at the Los Barrios Municipal Kennel, where she once was a volunteer, as well as funds for castration projects and running costs.
Since 2012 she began to bring dogs into the UK and Spanish Stray Dogs UK was born . Amee lives with her two Spanish Stray Dogs called Sir Pete and Dennis.

Treasurer: Laura Bradshaw
Laura joined us as our Treasurer in 2015. Laura became involved as a volunteer for SSD in Spain when she was living out in Gibraltar. Since returning to the UK we welcomed her to become our Treasurer. On returning to the UK Laura first became our adoptions administrator helping UK families through the process of adopting one of our dogs and most recently progressed to becoming one of our trustees and Treasurer for the charity. Laura has always been a lover of dogs and has two dogs of her own called Bruiser and Darcey.

Secretary: Jo Warburton
Spanish Stray Dogs UK Secretary is Jo Warburton, who has been a very active volunteer since adopting her first dog through SSDUK - Jack, before joining the board in April 2016.
Amongst other fundraising activities, she has been running our online shop. Jo adopted her two dogs from us in 2014 and 2015 - best friends Alonso and Jack. Take a look at the video of them being reunited here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCuYspL6LKw. Jo and her family live in Hampshire with Jack, Alonso along with two rescue cats Indy and Heath. A keen animal lover, she has given a home to many ex-battery hens and unwanted cockerels too!

Vice President: Victoria Vázquez
Victoria joined the board in April 2016 as a general trustee, shortly before adopting one of our dogs - a lovely maneto called Rioja. Victoria is originally from Spain although she has been living in the UK for over twenty years. She knows very well how difficult the situation is with stray dogs in Spain, due largley to a lack of funding and support. Victoria is an enthusiastic contributor and is currently in charge of the SSDUK twitter account, as well as helping with adoptions and looking at ways to garner funds and awareness to support the lovely dogs needing our help. In 2018 Victoria became our Vice president after proving her dedication time and time again to our dogs. The board of trustees were delighted to invite Victoria to become our Vice President and believe she is a fantastic voice for these abandoned and neglected dogs that our charity represents.
